Corrections
Parked crooked? How to correct it
How to rescue a park that did not quite fit, without starting over.
Why the park does not complete
In Parking Trainer a park completes when all three conditions are met:
- The car is fully inside the dashed bay
- The car is aligned with the lines
- The car has stopped completely, with the brake held or in P
For the reverse parking task you must also have entered the bay tail-first.
Stop first, then read
The first step of any correction is to stop. You cannot judge how far off you are while the car is moving. In the game, switching to the bird’s-eye camera shows most clearly which way and how far the car is crooked.
Correct with small moves
Step six of the parallel parking tutorial is itself a correction: straighten the wheel, select D and make a small correction forward so there is room on both sides. Corrections always follow the same logic:
- Stop completely and select the gear for the direction you need. In the game, a gear change that reverses direction waits until the car stops.
- Turn the wheel briefly and under control; corrections rarely need full lock.
- Move slowly forward or back a short distance.
- Stop again and check. If needed, finish with a small move the other way.
When to start over
If the angle is badly off or you are very close to the neighbouring car, pulling out completely and starting the manoeuvre again is often faster. In the game you can use the restart button to return to the same spot, or watch the tutorial again.
